Connectors in Intelligent Devices

Date:2019/10/09 Click:573 times
Intelligent devices with networking functions are the basis of the Internet of Things. Machines communicate with each other to achieve condition monitoring, using tracking, supplies replenishment, automatic maintenance, and new forms of entertainment. The ultimate goal is to achieve unattended participation, self-detection and self-optimization. Technological advances and the popularity of wired and wireless technologies will eventually lead to tens of billions of smart devices, as well as physical I/O interfaces and interconnection products that are tens of times as large as nodes. The most widely used connection system in industrial networks is the 8-pin RJ45 connector. For this kind of continuity, the transmission quality of modular socket connector system is excellent gradually and economically, and its end-connection mode is welding or surface-mounted end-connection. In many product combinations, besides single port, combined port and stacked port, there are also filter module sockets. Typical module sockets are 4, 6 or 8 pins, providing shieldless or various shielding options. The size pattern of the filter module socket and the layout of printed circuit board are similar to those of the standard type. The signal can be transmitted to the front board through the panel socket or the panel coupler. The product mix of filter module sockets also includes the type of Ethernet power supply (PoE). For applications that need to meet the requirements of IEEE802.3af, the filter module socket provides the corresponding power supply through the data dual line or idle dual line. In this way, the standard CAT-5 cable can be used for data transmission and power supply up to 100m away. As for the receiver, 48V power can be converted to 5V or 3.3V. Flexible field bus connectors based on D-Sub interface technology are used in common bus systems, such as CAN-Bus, Profibus and Safety BUS in IP-20 range. These product combinations include switches (connectable terminal resistors), pure nodes and pure terminals. Different installation conditions result in different requirements for cable routing. Fieldbus connectors and cables are often very strong and require stable and reliable mechanical stress relief. In the past, controllers in switchgear used to drive field devices through I/O cards. Nowadays, industrial automation tends to be decentralized. Field brakes and sensors are often connected to a passive or Fieldbus I/O box. In order to provide solutions for a variety of applications at the lowest cost, specific field devices need high-level modular flexible connector solutions. M2M has reached a turning point. It is growing at an annual rate of 25%. In a few years, the number of intelligent connection devices will exceed several orders of magnitude of the population. Therefore, it is difficult to specify the application of connectors in the Internet of Things, because industrial connectors are actually a "hodgepodge" and M2M is the catalyst of the industry. One unquestionable trend is that smart networking machines will become the next largest application market for connectors.
